Today’s
B&O employee is Mary “Aunt Nancy” Marker.
Born
in 1848, Mary began her career with the B&O in 1874 as a car cleaner in
Winchester, West Virginia. By 1914 she had become a Janitress. She retired from the B&O one year later in 1915 after 41 years of service. She
passed away on April 14, 1946 at the age of 98.
