James Kearse
James Kearse began his career with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad dining car department on April 28, 1944 as a waiter. During the next four years, he worked on all the B&O trains that carried a dining car including the Royal Blue, the National Limited, the Cincinnatian, the Ambassador, and the Capitol Limited. In June 1948, he was promoted to the position of waiter-in-charge. He remained in that position for the next 14 years. While working on the Ambassador between Baltimore and Detroit, he experienced a call to the ministry. Reverend Kearse worked for the B&O until June 1961. He is pictured here with his wife Louise.
