I've loved the William Mason ever since I was a kid in the early 70s and my grandfather took me to see it!

I would be both honored and thrilled to ride behind the William Mason! Being both a Civil War buff and a railfan, I think it would be a great once-in-a-lifetime experience to be in the cab during a ride with an actual Civil War period engine still operating today.

I don't have a bucket list. But if I did, a cab ride in the William Mason would top the list.

Friday is my Birthday, and I can't wait to spend Saturday at the B&O for Steam Days. We look forward to it every year. I hope that I can win, it will be the best way to bring in my 46th year. My family and I have been members of the B&O for several years now, and always look forward to the big events such as Steam days.

The 4-4-0 was THE locomotive that helped America grow. The #25 is a wonderful example of what William Mason's company wanted- to build a machine that was not only utilitarian, but was appealing to the eye as well. To see this 4-4-0 "in person" is an exciting experience. To actually be able to ride in her, would be an unforgettable thrill. Dave

I've followed the William Mason since the days of Disney's "The Great Locomotive Chase" and when I first visited the B&O Museum in the mid 1950's. It is one of my favorite Museum locomotives second only to the CRR of NJ #592 that my grandfather ran in the early 1900's. Even though retired I still retain a current engineer's certificate.

Ihis isn't the first time, cab rides were on the Mason. Back right after the engine was returned from the Wild Wild West shoot, still in the god awful Warner livery, at Steam Days, the museum was charging either $25 or $50 per person(I do not remember which) to ride in the cab. This when I first started as a volunteer at the museum, and had the opportunity to be the fireman on the last run, that is when I fell in love with the Mason.
