February 2013 Stan and Ina Choate
The B&O would like to thank
and recognize Stan and Ina Choate as the February 2013 Volunteers of the Month.
They are volunteers at Ellicott City Station.
Stan joined us in 2006
and Ina followed in 2009. They took on the task of revamping the freight
agent’s office and living quarters. They cleaned and removed unnecessary or
non-time period items and replaced them with items purchased with their own
money. They also wear period clothing to help visitors experience the feel of
the time period. Ina, as mistress of the house, keeps everything tidy and
rotates items for the seasons explaining life in Howard County in the mid
1800’s. The gardens in front of the museum are maintained by them as well. They
are a great part of the volunteer program in Ellicott City.
Stan and
Ina, thank you for sharing your time, talents, kindness, and love for history.
We are so fortunate to have you on our team! We are glad you choose to volunteer
and share your time with us.
